If your Melissani M1 isn’t working as expected, don’t worry—most issues are simple and easy to fix. This guide walks you through the most common problems and how to resolve them step by step.
Power Issues
Machine Won’t Turn On
- Ensure the power adapter is securely connected to both the machine and a working wall outlet.
- Press and hold the power button for at least 5 seconds until the screen lights up or the unit beeps.
- Test the wall outlet by plugging in another device to confirm it’s providing power.
- If the unit still won’t power on, unplug it completely for 10 minutes, then try powering it on again.
-
Additional Tips:
- Try using a different outlet, preferably on another wall, to rule out circuit or voltage inconsistencies.
- Visually inspect the power cord for any damage or loose connections.
Water Dispensing Problems
No Water Dispensing
- Check the water tank to ensure it’s filled with fresh, cold tap water and is fully seated—listen for a soft click to confirm it's properly aligned.
- If the machine still isn’t dispensing, remove the water tank and inspect the bottom connection port for any obstructions or debris.
- Confirm all filters are securely installed and turned to the locked position.
- Run a cleaning cycle by pressing and holding the “Clean” button for 3 seconds. This can help release trapped air that may be interrupting flow.
- Allow the machine to sit for 1–2 minutes after a cleaning cycle before attempting to dispense again.
-
If water still doesn’t dispense, reset the machine by holding the power button for 5 seconds.
Cleaning Cycle Doesn’t Start
- Confirm the water tank is filled to the correct level.
- Check that all filters are fully inserted and locked into position. Misaligned filters can prevent the cycle from starting.
- Try a system reset: Hold the power button for 5 seconds, then attempt the cleaning cycle again.
-
If the cleaning cycle still doesn’t start, unplug the machine for 1 minute, then plug it back in and try again.
Leaking or Overflowing
Water Leaking from the Bottom
- Ensure the water tank is aligned properly and seated securely—misalignment can lead to leaks.
- Check all external connections and reseat both the tank and filters to rule out loose fittings.
- Inspect the manual drainage hole at the bottom of the unit. This is covered by a soft black sponge circle and can sometimes loosen over time.
- If the wire metal clamp around the drainage tube is missing or loose, it may need to be replaced. A spare clamp is typically included with your unit, along with a replacement floater.
- Look for any visible cracks or seal damage around the base and tank area.
-
After addressing these points, dry the area and test again to pinpoint if the leak has been resolved.
Overflow Between Tanks
- Avoid overfilling the tap water tank—¾ full is recommended.
-
Clean the internal chambers and run a cleaning cycle.
System Messages & Alerts
“Add Water” Light Stays On
- Check the floater inside the tap water tank. If it’s stuck or flipped upside down, the machine may not detect the correct water level. Gently tap or reposition it so it floats properly.
- Ensure the water tank is fully seated—an improperly placed tank can prevent the system from registering that it’s filled.
- Remove the tank, empty it, rinse thoroughly, and refill with clean water. Then reinsert it and confirm it clicks into place.
-
If the issue persists, inspect the sensor area inside the tank slot to ensure there’s no buildup or obstruction preventing the sensor from detecting the tank properly.
E1 Error Code
- This code typically means the machine is unable to draw water—often due to a blockage or an empty tap water tank.
- Check that the tap water tank is filled and properly seated. Refill if low and ensure it's clicked into place securely.
- Inspect all filters to make sure they're installed correctly and not clogged or overdue for replacement.
- Run a cleaning cycle to help release any trapped air or internal buildup.
-
Reset the machine by unplugging it for 5–10 minutes, then holding the power button for 5 seconds after restarting.
Blinking Light or Beeping
- These alerts often indicate a filter issue, low water level, or that a cleaning cycle is needed.
- Check the tap water tank to ensure it’s filled and properly seated.
- Inspect all filters (PAC, CF, RO) to ensure they’re correctly installed and not past their recommended replacement time.
- Run a full cleaning cycle to clear any internal buildup or air pockets.
-
Reset the machine by unplugging it for 5–10 minutes, then holding the power button for 5 seconds after turning it back on.
Water Quality & Flow
Water Tastes Unusual (Plastic, Metallic, etc.)
- Run 2–3 cleaning cycles to flush the system.
- Clean or replace filters.
-
Use fresh, cold tap water in the tank.
Slow Water Flow
- Replace filters if they’re near the end of their life.
- Clean the tank and run a descaling cycle.
-
Make sure water tank is properly seated and full.
Noises or Vibrations
Machine Is Loud or Vibrating
- Make sure the unit is on a flat, level surface—vibration or noise often occurs if it’s tilted or placed unevenly.
- Refill the water tank fully and confirm all filters are properly installed and locked in place.
- Run a full cleaning cycle to help clear any trapped air or buildup.
-
Gently wipe the bottom of the unit and its base with a microfiber cloth to ensure there’s no debris affecting balance or airflow.
Heating & Cooling Issues
Water Not Cooling or Heating
- Give the system a few minutes to reach the desired temperature—especially after powering on or refilling the tank.
- Ensure the water tank is fully filled and properly seated.
- Confirm the machine is securely plugged into a working outlet.
- If the heating or cooling still doesn’t engage, try a reset by holding the power button for 5 seconds.
- For best results, avoid dispensing during active temperature cycling—wait until the temperature icons indicate readiness.
General Reset
To perform a full reset:
- Hold the power button for 5 seconds.
-
Wait for the machine to power off and restart.
A reset can often resolve minor glitches, display issues, or unresponsive features
