Step-by-Step Setup Guide for Melissani M1

Setting up your Melissani M1 Countertop Reverse Osmosis Water Purifier is simple—and only takes a few minutes. Follow this step-by-step guide to get started with fresh, purified water right away.

What You’ll Need

  • A flat, stable surface (countertop, table, etc.)
  • Access to a standard power outlet
  • Fresh, cold tap water
  • Your Melissani M1 with included filters (already installed)
  • Make sure the unit is placed on a surface that’s dry and level.

No tools or plumbing required!

Step-by-Step Setup

Step 1: Unbox and Inspect

  • Remove the M1 and components from the packaging.
  • Check that all parts are present and undamaged:
    • Main unit (filters pre-installed)
    • Tap water tank
    • Power adapter
    • Drip tray
    • Quick Start Guide
      • If anything is missing or damaged, please reach out to our support team before proceeding.

Step 2: Place the Unit

  • Choose a clean, flat surface near a power outlet.
  • Leave a few inches of space around the machine for airflow.
  • Avoid placing the unit directly next to a stove, window, or heat source

Step 3: Fill the Water Tank

  • Remove the tap water tank and fill it with fresh, cold tap water.
  • Don’t overfill—¾ full is best for optimal filtration.
  • Place the tank back securely—listen for a soft click or alignment.

Step 4: Plug In the Machine

  • Connect the power adapter to the back of the machine and plug it into the wall.
  • The screen will light up when the unit is powered.

Step 5: Run the Initial Cleaning Cycle

This is a critical first step - This step flushes out any minor residues from shipping and primes the filters for use. Do not add any external cleaning solutions — this rinse cycle uses only filtered water.

  • Press and hold the “Clean” button for 3 seconds.
  • The system will run 3 full rinse cycles automatically.
  • Wait for the process to complete (about 8–10 minutes).
  • Empty the internal tanks after the cycle.

 Tip: You may notice bubbles in your water at first—this is normal and will resolve after a few uses.

Step 6: Dispense Your First Glass of Water

  • Fill the tank with fresh water again.
  • Press the water dispensing button for your desired volume (cold or room temp).
  • Enjoy your first glass of ultra-purified water!

Troubleshooting First-Time Setup

Issue

Solution

Machine won’t power on

Ensure cord is firmly plugged in; hold power button for 5 seconds

No water is dispensing

Check filter installation and tank position; run another cleaning cycle

“No Water” light stays on

Ensure floater in tank isn’t stuck; check alignment

Unusual taste or smell

Run an additional 1–2 rinse cycles and ensure the tank is fully flushed and refilled with cold, clean water.
