Our Water Story: What My Son's Skin Taught Our Family About Water

Before Melissani was a company, it was a question we couldn't stop asking: what's actually in our water?

It started when our baby developed eczema. Like a lot of parents, we went through the usual list — new creams, fragrance-free everything, cutting out foods that might be triggers. Some of it helped a little. None of it felt like the answer.

Then we started paying attention to our water. Not just whether it tasted fine, but what might actually be in it — chlorine, sediment, things you can't see or taste but that touch your skin every single bath, every single bottle. We switched to filtered water at home, and over the following weeks and months, things started to look better for our son.

We want to be honest here: we're not doctors, and we can't promise filtered water will do the same thing for every child. Every kid's skin, and every family's water, is different. But that experience was the moment our family stopped thinking about water filtration as a nice-to-have and started treating it as something worth actually getting right.

That's the reason Melissani exists. We built the M1 so families don't have to go through the same guessing game we did — wondering what's in the water, trying products at random, hoping something works. The M1 removes 99.9% of common tap water contaminants, including PFAS and PFOS, so you don't have to wonder what's coming out of your tap.

We started this because of what happened in our own home. We keep going because of the families who tell us their water finally tastes — and feels — like something they trust.
